Professorship in Theranostics (W2) (f/m/x)

The University of Cologne is one of the oldest and largest universities in Germany. With its six Faculties covering a broad spectrum of disciplines and its internationally outstanding research profile areas, it enjoys an excellent reputation for its academic achievements and high standards of undergraduate and graduate education.

YOUR TASKS

The field of theranostics is to be competently represented in teaching, research, and patient care. The professorship involves clinical work in patient care in all areas of nuclear medicine, including a senior physician role.

The professorship is intended to advance the development, testing, and expansion of theranostic procedures in nuclear medicine. This includes responsible participation in innovative theranostic approaches, as well as the coordination of clinical trials and the planning and implementation of investigator-initiated studies. Third-party funding is to be coordinated and independently acquired. The potential for the development and translation as well as the clinical evaluation of new radiopharmaceuticals is to be utilized. Close interaction with the clinical partners of the University Hospital Cologne in the field of theranostics is particularly important, and this will be expanded and consolidated through the planned professorship. A relevant contribution to the faculty‘s research areas, to supraregional networks (e.g., CIO, NCT West), and basic science initiatives (e.g., CECAD, CMMC) is expected. Close collaboration with the Jülich Research Center (Institutes INM-2 and INM-5) is required.

OUR OFFER

The University of Cologne provides a exciting academic environment with a wide range of career development opportunities as well as support services for dual career couples and family-friendly working conditions.

As a rule, the teaching load comprises nine semester hours per week (i.e., two hours per week is one 90-minute course per semester).

The University of Cologne promotes equal opportunities and diversity. Women will be considered preferentially in accordance with the Equal Opportunities Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Landesgleichstellungsgesetz – LGG NRW).
