Assistant Professorship in General Educational Science (W1 to tenure track W3) (f/m/d)

This also includes teacher training at a high professional level with a systematic reflection of educational processes in society. This call is part of the Tenure Track Programme of the German Federal Government and the Federal States. lt addresses researchers at an early career stage.
YOUR TASKS
The candidate should represent general educational science with a focus on anthropology and philosophy of education in research and teaching. Participation in the research activities of the department, including the implementation of externally funded research projects and publications, is expected. Participation in the academic self-administration and in the teaching tasks of the department in school and extracurricular courses is obligatory.

The position is available at the earliest possible date. Formal requirements are detailed in Section 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz – HG NRW).
In the third year after entering into office, an aptitude evaluation is held. This serves as the basis for the decision as to whether an extension for a further three years will be granted to the candidate. At the latest, a tenure evaluation is held in the sixth year after entering into office. On this basis, a decision will be reached as to whether the candidate will be given tenure at W3 level. Both evaluations are carried out according to the Tenure Track Regulations plus (TT-Oplus) at the University of Cologne.
W1 professorships comprise a teaching load of four hours per week (i.e., two hours per week is one 90-minute course per semester) in the first qualification phase and five hours per week in the second qualification phase. As a rule, W3 professorships comprise a teaching load of nine semester hours per week.

YOUR PROFILE
The applicant should represent general educational science with a focus on anthropology and philosophy of education in research and teaching. In addition to a highly relevant PhD in educational science, research foci in at least two of the subject areas are required: Pedagogical and historical anthropology, philosophy of education, theory of education, theory of science and history of science of education.
