Starting on 01.04.2026 our Department Knowledge Technologies for the Social Sciences (KTS), Team Big Data Analytics (BDA) located in Cologne is looking for a
 
Student Research Assistant
(13,98 € / 14,87 € hourly rate, 40 hrs./ month, temporary)
 
The department Knowledge Technologies for Social Sciences (KTS) conducts research at the intersection of information retrieval, natural language processing, semantic technologies and human information interaction as foundation for innovative web portals and platforms for the search and use of research data. KTS innovations are based on a state-of-the-art software stack and research-based innovations in the aforementioned fields.

Dein Profil

Your tasks will be:
  • Pre-processing and annotation of Web data such as search engine log and social media

  • Implementing data science and machine learning methods for data analysis

  • Helping with user study setup 

Your profile:
  • Studying computer science, software engineering, or related programs

  • Good programming skills

  • Familiar with the concepts and algorithms in information retrieval

  • Knowledge of Data Science methods

  • Good written and spoken English skills
