Inhouse Consulting Intern – M&A (m/w/d)

Herchenbach verfolgt eine ambitionierte internationale Wachstumsstrategie und hat in den vergangenen Jahren zwei strategische Akquisitionen erfolgreich abgeschlossen. Wir suchen motivierte Studierende, die Interesse haben, diese Entwicklung aktiv zu begleiten und an der Vorbereitung zukünftiger Akquisitionen mitzuwirken. Als Intern im Inhouse Consulting mit Schwerpunkt Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) unterstützt du Herchenbach bei der Identifikation und Analyse potenzieller Akquisitionsziele. Du arbeitest eng mit dem Chief of Staff und den Inhouse Consultants zusammen und erhältst Einblicke in die Arbeitsweise einer internen Beratungseinheit. Dabei sammelst du praktische Erfahrungen in der Bewertung von Unternehmen, der Analyse von Finanzkennzahlen sowie der Vorbereitung von Entscheidungsunterlagen. Je nach Bedarf unterstützt du zudem weitere Themen und Projekte des Inhouse Consultings und lernst, wie strategische Fragestellungen strukturiert, bewertet und für Entscheidungsprozesse aufbereitet werden. Das Praktikum wird in Vollzeit durchgeführt und kann als Pflicht- oder freiwilliges Praktikum absolviert werden. Der Einstieg ist flexibel, die Dauer beträgt mindestens 2 Monate.

Deine Aufgaben

• Unterstützung beim Screening und der Bewertung potenzieller Akquisitionsziele
• Durchführung von internationalen Markt- und Wettbewerbsanalysen
• Analyse von Unternehmenskennzahlen und ersten finanziellen Bewertungsansätzen
• Mitarbeit bei der Erstellung von Präsentationen und Entscheidungsvorlagen
• Vorbereitung und Nachbereitung von Meetings
• Unterstützung bei weiteren Themen des Inhouse Consultings je nach Bedarf

Dein Profil

• Laufendes Studium der Wirtschafts-, Ingenieur- oder Naturwissenschaften
• Sehr gutes analytisches Verständnis und eine strukturierte, sorgfältige Arbeitsweise
• Sicherer Umgang mit Excel, PowerPoint und modernen KI-Tools
• Schnelle Auffassungsgabe und Lernbereitschaft
• Zuverlässigkeit, Eigeninitiative und Freude an der Arbeit im Team
• Sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse
• Wünschenswert, aber keine Voraussetzung: erste Erfahrungen in Consulting, Strategie, Corporate Development, Corporate Finance oder vergleichbaren analytischen Funktionen

Herchenbach is pursuing an ambitious international growth strategy and has completed two strategic acquisitions in recent years. We are looking for motivated students who want to be part of this development and contribute to the preparation of future acquisitions.

As an Intern in our Inhouse Consulting team with a focus on Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), you will support Herchenbach in identifying and analyzing potential acquisition targets. You will work closely with the Chief of Staff and the Inhouse Consultants and gain valuable insights into how an internal consulting unit operates. You will build practical experience in the valuation of companies, the analysis of financial information and KPIs, and the preparation of decision‑relevant documents. Depending on project needs, you will also support additional strategic topics and learn how to structure and analyze complex questions and prepare them for internal decision‑making processes.

The internship is full‑time and can be completed as a mandatory or voluntary internship. The start date is flexible, and the duration is at least 2 months.

Your Responsibilities

• Support the screening and assessment of potential acquisition targets
• Conduct international market and competitive analyses

• Ongoing studies in business, engineering, natural sciences or a comparable discipline
• Strong analytical skills and a structured, detail‑oriented working style
• Confident use of Excel, PowerPoint and modern AI tools

• Very good German and English language skills
