This behavioral study involves playing a game with many different images and explores how people learn from both painful and rewarding experiences. Participants take part in a task where their choices can help them avoid heat pain or receive pleasant rewards. The results will help us understand how the brain learns to deal with threat and safety in everyday life.
Procedure
The study consists of an appointment of just under 2 hours.
Special features
Thermal stimulation
During the experiment, you will receive multiple heat stimuli on your forearm via the Thermode. You yourself have an influence on the strength of the stimulation, as it is individually adapted to your pain perception at the beginning of the measurement.
The stimuli can also be painful, but can in no way bring any health consequences/disadvantages.
