This position in the Computer Security and Privacy group led by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Delphine Reinhardt offers an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated
individual to pursue a doctoral degree in an interdisciplinary research environment.
Your profile
A very good M.Sc. degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field,
Solid background in one or more of the following areas: privacy and security, robotics, and human factors,
Strong programming skills,
Experience with user-centered design, qualitative and/or quantitative user studies, and ideally with prototyping interactive systems,
Ability to conduct independent scientific research, along with strong commitment, team orientation in an interdisciplinary context, and
communication skills,
A very good command of both English and German is a must,
Strong interest in pursuing a doctoral degree and contributing to high-impact research.
Your responsibilities
Designing and developing novel solutions that better protect users’ privacy, by, e.g., assisting users in making informed privacy-related
decisions,
Conducting user studies to better understand the existing limitations and how the newly developed solutions address them by, e.g., assessing
the solution’s impact on privacy concerns, decision-making capabilities, and acceptance,
Publishing and presenting the obtained scientific results in international peer-reviewed conferences and/or journals,
Supervising student projects in this area,
Active support in teaching activities according to §31 NHG and examinations.
