The Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Plasma Technology at the University of Stuttgart is looking for a highly qualified and committed scientist (m/f/d) to join the Biofabrication research area and develop it strategically as soon as possible.
Your tasks
• Setting up, establishing and continuously developing the biofabrication research area within the working group
• Designing, implementing and evaluating independent research projects (e.g. bioprinting, tissue engineering and biomaterials).
• Developing new research strategies and focal points in the field of biofabrication
• Acquire third-party funding and assist with grant applications
• Supervising doctoral students and theses at master's and bachelor's level
• Publishing research results in high-ranking international journals
• Establishing and maintaining national and international collaborations
• Participating in teaching
• Completed a doctorate in the life sciences, bioprocess engineering, biomedical engineering, materials science or a related field.
• In-depth knowledge and demonstrable research experience in biofabrication (e.g. 3D bioprinting, cell-biomaterial interactions, tissue engineering).
• Experience of independent scientific work and project management
• An excellent publication record, or demonstrable potential to achieve this
• Ideally, you will have experience in acquiring third-party funding
• Ability to work in a team, with a high level of initiative and strategic and conceptual thinking
• Excellent written and spoken German and/or English
