Dein Profil

A W3 professorship in "Quantum Software" is available at the University of Stuttgart in the Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Information Technology. The professorship will be part of the Institute of Architecture of Application Systems (IAAS). We are looking for an individual who can represent the area of quantum software within research and teaching. The candidate is internationally recognized in research, and if possible, has experience in working with industry or is willing to do so. For example, expertise in one or more of the following topics is desirable:

  • Architecture of Quantum Applications
  • Hybrid Quantum Applications
  • Engineering and Tool Support for Quantum Applications
  • Middleware und Runtime Environments for Quantum Applications
  • Cloud- und service-based  Architectures
  • Quantum Computing in various Application Areas.

 

The ideal candidate can relate to some of the strategic profile areas of the university, such as quantum technologies, simulation science, architecture and adaptive buildings, digital humanities, and production technologies, as well as to existing multi-PI initiatives, such as QPhoton, IQST, GSaME, IntCDC or Cyber Valley. Cooperation within the institute is also encouraged.

The prospective professor is expected to contribute to teaching, in particular, within our degree programs and through introductory courses, both in German and English, in the Faculty's Bachelor's and Master's degree programs, as well as to actively solicit external funding and to participate in collaborative research projects at the university.

We are searching for an individual who is distinguished by high-ranking scientific achievements with international visibility especially in quantum computing and quantum software.

 

For a qualitative assessment of your academic accomplishments, we kindly ask you to submit a short description of your three most important scientific achievements, which should be no longer than one page in total. Possible accomplishments include, for example, those in the fields of research, teaching, science and society, knowledge and technology transfer, inventions and patents, software development, and spin-offs.
