A W3 professorship in Intelligent Signal Processing is available at the University of Stuttgart in the Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. The professorship will be part of the Institute of Signal Processing and System Theory. We are looking for an individual who can represent the area of Intelligent Signal Processing within research and teaching. The ideal candidate is internationally recognized in research, and if possible, has experience in working with industry or is willing to do so. For example, expertise in one or more of the following topics is desirable:
The ideal candidate can relate to some of the strategic profile areas of the university, such as Aerospace Technologies, Biomedical Systems and Robotics for Health, Production Technologies und Quantum Technologies, as well as to existing initiatives, such as Quantum Human-Machine-Interface (QHMI), Graduate School Intelligent Methods for Test and Reliability (GS-IMTR) or Simulation Technology (SimTech). Cooperation within the faculty is also encouraged.
The prospective professor is expected to contribute to teaching, in particular, within our degree programs and through introductory courses, both in German and English, in the Faculty's Bachelor's and Master's degree programs, e.g. with inter faculty courses in the area of Deep Learning as well as to actively solicit external funding and to participate in collaborative research projects at the university.
We are searching for a personality who should be distinguished by high-ranking scientific achievements with international visibility especially in Intelligent Signal Processing.
For a qualitative assessment of your academic accomplishments, we kindly ask you to submit a short description of your three most important scientific achievements, which should be no longer than one page in total. Possible accomplishments include, for example, those in the fields of research, teaching, science and society, knowledge and technology transfer, inventions and patents, software development, and spin-offs.
