The Institute of Interfacial Process Engineering and Plasma Technology (IGVP) at the University of Stuttgart is seeking an outstanding and highly motivated Postdoctoral Group Leader (m/f/d) to establish and develop a new research group at the interface of biofabrication, digital tools, and data-driven or AI-supported technologies.

Your Responsibilities
Establish and lead a new research group with a focus on biofabrication and digital technologies
Design and conduct innovative research projects (e.g., development of novel bioprinting systems, data-driven process optimization, digital workflows, combination of plasma and biofabrication technologies, new biomaterials)
Develop new research strategies and thematic priorities within the field
Contribute to third-party funding acquisition and research proposal preparation
Supervise PhD candidates, Master’s students, and Bachelor’s theses
Publish research results in high-impact international journals
Build and maintain national and international collaborations
Contribute to teaching activities in biofabrication or related fields
Your Profile
PhD in biofabrication, biomedical engineering, biotechnology, materials science, process engineering, or a related field
Strong research background in biofabrication; experience with digital methods, data science, or AI-supported approaches is an advantage
Initial experience in student supervision, project coordination, or research management (formal leadership experience not required)
Solid publication record appropriate for your career stage
Interest in developing research proposals and acquiring third-party funding
High level of motivation, creativity, and willingness to shape new research directions
Excellent English skills; German skills or willingness to learn German are an asset
