Are you excited by the design of next-generation materials, the chemistry of crystalline self-assembly, or catalysis driven by precisely defined atomic environments? Do you enjoy working in a collaborative and interactive research setting? The research group of Jun.-Prof. Dr. Endo focuses on the synthesis of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) and their catalytic applications, and is currently seeking highly motivated candidates for PhD positions, with a starting date as soon as possible.

Your Tasks

 

One of the following projects or related topics:

  • Synthesis of novel MOF–COF hybrid frameworks (MOCOFs) assisted by machine-learning (ref 1, 2)

  • Synthesis of MOFs and immobilization of molecular catalysts for thermocatalytic applications (ref 3)

Participation in teaching (5%)

 

 

Your Profile

 

  • Master's degree in Chemistry or Materials Science

  • Experiences in solution-state synthesis

  • Understanding of coordination chemistry

  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills

  • Curiosity and boldness to explore the unknown

  • Optional: Schlenk techniques, glovebox, PXRD, NMR, Materials Studio, Python, JSON Schema

Employment and compensation information

 

Duration of Employment: Initial contract of 1.5 or 3 years (depending on the project), with the prospect of extension up to 4 years
Type of Funding: Position as Employee at the University of Stuttgart 
Compensation: German TV-L E13 scale 50%, with the possibility of increasing to 67% after one year
