The Department of Genome Editing at the Institute of Biomedical Genetics (IBMG), University of Stuttgart, invites applications for a PhD position. We study how cell death and inflammatory signalling intersect to drive human disease. The PhD candidate will explore the molecular basis of metabolic diseases, dissecting how defects in cellular clearance and stress responses contribute to cardiac, muscular, and neurodegenerative pathologies.
The University of Stuttgart is one of Germany's leading technological universities with strong profiles in engineering, technical medicine, and physics. IBMG leverages this ecosystem through close collaborations that span molecular biology, genetics, computation, and engineering, enabling access to advanced instrumentation, modelling, and technology transfer opportunities
