Mandatory Internship: Safety AI for humanoid robots (Positron safety AI), M/W/D - Stuttgart

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are searching for a motivated and curious mandatory intern (6 months) who is passionate about the intersection of AI, robotics, and functional safety. You should enjoy working on real industrial challenges and be eager to contribute to a cutting-edge safety system that will shape the next generation of safe humanoid robots.

You are a great fit if you…

• Have a background in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, AI, Mechatronics, or a related field
• Are excited about topics like humanoids, AI Safety, functional safety, human detection,, or embedded systems
• Know basics of (mobile) robotics systems like kinematics, navigation, localization, path planning, manipulation, 2D/3D perception
• Bring theoretical and practical experience with robotics simulators (Isaac Sim, Omniverse, MuJoCo, Gazebo, etc.)
• Bring first experience with Python or C/C++ (ROS knowledge is a plus, not a requirement)
• Think analytically, enjoy solving complex problems, and have a hands-on mindset
• Communicate clearly, document your work well, and like collaborating in international technical teams

HERE'S WHERE YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

• Support the development and validation of our Positron Safety AI System
• Contribute to safety-critical algorithms such as Safe Human Detection and AI Behavioral Safety
• Perform testing on modern robotics and safety  systems
• Analyze, implement, simulate, document, and optimize safety-relevant processes
• Optional: Develop small tools (Python/C++/ROS) to support safety workflows
