Dein Job

Company description

Single Quantum is the global leader in Superconducting Nanowire Single Photon Detectors, with applications in photonic quantum technology, time resolved microscopy and deep space optical communication. Striving to make the world’s fastest and most sensitive light detectors, the company is continuously shifting the technological edge. Single Quantum is expanding its German R&D hub located on the university campus in Stuttgart and is looking for an Electrical Engineer that conceives Cryogenic RF Circuits – both discrete components and MMICs – for tomorrow’s ultra-sensitive light detectors.

What you will be doing

You will research and develop novel analog and mixed signal cryogenic electronics circuits. This includes the conceptual circuit design, simulation, PCB design and testing at cryogenic temperatures. Working closely together with an expert team at Single Quantum and with leading research groups around the globe, you will enable scalable cryogenic readout circuits for the next generation of our superconducting nanowire single photon detectors.

Your role

  • You conceive the world’s fastest and lowest noise RF analog and mixed signal cryo electronics circuits
  • You simulate, prototype and test your circuits, continuously expanding your knowledge
  • You integrate your electronics in a cryogenic R&D system
  • You collaborate with the world’s most prestigious research groups in the field and present your work at leading scientific conferences

Your profile

  • Above average ability to quickly understand and solve electrical engineering problems
  • Ability to design practical RF electronics up to a few of GHz, including a good understanding of parasitics and waveguides
  • Deep understanding of analog electronics, including a fundamental understanding of the origin and propagation of electronic noise
  • Experience with amplifier design is a plus
  • Experience with semiconductors at cryogenic temperatures is a plus
  • PhD or MSc in electrical engineering or physics

Your benefits

  • A large degree of independence
  • Opportunity to collaborate with the world’s leading researchers in the field
  • Opportunity to visit leading conferences and trade shows
  • Flexible work hours
