The Communications and Press Relations Department at the University of Lübeck has an immediate vacancy for a

student assistant specialising in marketing for the DAAD-funded project Lübeck Global Minds Masters

working 39 hours per month on a fixed-term contract, with remote work possibility, until 31 December 2029.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting coordination and communication with an advertising agency (briefings, feedback loops, scheduling, tracking to-do lists), acting as the interface between project management, programme coordination (MSc IT Security) and the advertising agency; preparing for and following up on meetings, including brief minutes
  • Bringing a student and international perspective to target audience communication (authenticity, tone)
  • Support with online information sessions for prospective international students (organisation, support, acting as a student representative where appropriate)
  • Assistance with monitoring and reporting (compiling key performance indicators, preparing simple analyses for project management)
  • Assistance with tracking-related tasks (UTM overviews, Matomo analyses within the framework of the GDPR)
  • Assistance with preparing and analysing the accompanying evaluation survey

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a MA or advanced BA degree in advertising, journalism, communication and media studies or a related subject in the social sciences or humanities
  • Interest in social media marketing and content creation
  • Experience in using Canva
  • A structured approach to work and an enjoyment of process design
  • Initiative and team spirit and the ability to assess urgency and manage simultaneous tasks
  • Very good command of English

Assets:

  • Initial experiences from an editorial perspective with social media (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn)
  • Basic design, audio-visual, and image editing skills
  • Knowledge of other languages (e.g., Portuguese, Czech, Polish, BCS, Spanish)
  • Migration experience, experience living abroad and/or an international outlook
  • Good command of German
