How to Apply in Germany: A Guide – Not Only – for International Students

Do I need an application photo? How many pages should or could my CV be? – German job applications come with some special features that in particular international students might stumble upon.

Therefore, in this session of the lecture series „Wege in den Job” (Pathways to a Job), the Careers Service will give a concise overview of the application process in Germany.

You will learn information on the following issues and questions:

  • How do I find and read job offers in Germany?

  • How do I write and design my (German) CV?

  • How should my cover letter be structured and which contents are important to German recruiters?

  • Which services at HHU and its partners can support me in finding interesting jobs and getting a job in Germany?

After the presentation there will be a Q&A session.

Students of all faculties and terms and are kindly invited to attend this event and actively shape their transition into professional life. External guests, such as students from HSD, are welcome to contact the following email address (careerservice@hhu.de) to submit a preliminary registration. It will be held in English.
