PhD candidate (m/f/x)
The Department of Molecular Cell Biology focusses on mechanisms of neurodegenerative disease and interfaces between the nervous system and the immune system. Of particular interest in this context are signalling processes regulated by ubiquitin. The planned project is associated with the Cluster of Excellence RESOLV and specifically addresses phase transitions of ubiquitin-binding proteins and their role in protein quality control.
We invite highly motivated PhD candidates who would like to combine biophysical and biochemical in vitro approaches with cell culture assays and advanced light microscopy techniques. In addition to scientific activities, participation in teaching activities is expected, including supervision of internships and, if applicable, bachelor's or master's students.

The position is salaried and based on the collective agreement of the Länder (TV-L). If the personal and collective agreement requirements are met, the employee will receive pay grade E 13 TV-L.

The place of work is Ruhr University Bochum.
If the position is funded by third-party funds the employee has no teaching obligation.
