Mission

Freshflow is building the food supply chain technology of the future to reduce global food waste. We do accurate order forecasting, replenishment, and inventory control for grocery retailers — massively reducing food waste while keeping shelves full. Today, more than 40% of all food produced globally is wasted, causing $1.2 trillion/year in losses and carbon emissions 6x higher than the entire aviation industry. We're already working with the largest grocery retailer in Germany, some of the largest in France, and several smaller retailers across Europe — reducing food waste by 25% while increasing revenue.

What we're looking for

Freshflow is looking for a curious, analytically sharp working student who loves digging into real data to find out what's actually going on. You'll sit within our Data Science team and play a key role in making sure our customers consistently hit their KPIs — by investigating performance developments, uncovering root causes, and turning your findings into clear, actionable analyses.

This isn't a "make slides and fetch coffee" role. You'll work with real customer data from day one, conduct your own investigations, and directly influence the decisions we make with and for our clients. When things are running smoothly on the analytics side, you'll also get the chance to contribute to broader data science projects across the team.

We're looking for someone who can work rather independently, has a good feeling for numbers, and genuinely enjoys the detective work of figuring out why a metric moved.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate KPI developments across our customer base: analyze performance data, identify patterns, and surface root causes
  • Build and maintain analyses and reports that help our Customer Success team have informed, evidence-based conversations with clients
  • Develop a strong understanding of our product's settings and how they influence customer outcomes
  • Collaborate with the Data Science team on methodologies and with Customer Success on translating findings into action
  • Contribute to improving and standardizing our analytics workflows and documentation
  • Support broader data science initiatives when capacity allows

Benefits

  • Remote working from anywhere in the Central European timezone +/- 1 hour
  • Access to our managed office in Berlin if you're based locally

Dein Profil

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field
  • Solid statistical understanding and an intuition for what numbers are telling you — and when they're lying
  • Comfortable working with SQL at a medium level
  • You enjoy working independently, taking ownership, and figuring things out
  • Strong communication skills — you can explain a complex finding clearly and concisely
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus

Beneficial: experience with data visualization tools or BI platforms, Python skills, familiarity with BigQuery/GCP, previous exposure to forecasting, supply chain, or retail analytics
