A postdoctoral position (f/m/x) in the field of mathematical optimization is available in the research group led by Prof Dr Frank Vallentin.

YOUR TASKS

• Teaching courses (e.g., Introduction to the Mathematics of Operations Research)

• Supervision of bachelor’s and master’s theses

• Participation in the joint research activities of the group, which conducts research at the intersections of mathematical optimization, discrete mathematics, geometry, algebra, and computer science

The position is available from 01.03.2026 on a full-time basis (39,83 hours per week). It is limited to 3 years. If the applicant meets the relevant wage requirements and personal qualifications, the salary will be based on remuneration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for the German public sector.
