myotwin is a cutting-edge technology company specializing in the development of custom readout systems for cardiac 3D tissues. We are seeking a highly motivated and talented working student to join our dynamic team and contribute to the exciting challenges at the intersection of CAD/CAM, rapid prototyping and manufacturing.

Possible Projects

CNC Production:
- Programming and Setup: Assist in creating CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., Fusion 360) to translate CAD models into precise toolpaths. This involves setting up CNC machines, selecting appropriate tools, and ensuring optimal cutting strategies for efficient production.
- Troubleshooting and Optimization: Work closely with the production team to troubleshoot machining issues, optimize cutting processes, and improve overall production efficiency by reducing cycle times and minimizing material waste.
(Re-)Design Optimized for Assembly:
- Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Collaborate with engineers to simplify designs for easier assembly and disassembly. This includes reducing part complexity, standardizing components, and minimizing the number of assembly steps to streamline the manufacturing process.
- Modular Design: Focus on creating modular designs that allow parts to be independently manufactured and assembled. This approach enhances flexibility in production and reduces the need for custom tooling, ultimately lowering costs.
Develop Intelligent Mounting Strategies
- Optimized Mounting Locations: Conduct simulations and tests to identify the optimal mounting positions for various components, ensuring minimal vibration, maximum stability, and ease of access for maintenance. This includes evaluating environmental factors such as temperature fluctuations, mechanical stress, and load distribution to ensure long-term reliability.
- Adaptive Mounting Solutions: Design and implement flexible and modular mounting systems that can be easily adjusted or reconfigured based on specific project requirements. This may involve developing mounting strategies that allow for quick assembly and disassembly, reducing downtime during production or maintenance phases.

About you

Experience. You have worked on similar projects before. Either in a research group, company or at your very own smart home project! Share a youtube link, your blog or pictures, if you have any.
Training. Beneficial but not a must: ****Enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program (e.g. Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field).
Open minded. Be eager to learn new skills!
Language skills. Fluent in English and preferably also in German language.
